I am not sure if you notice but during the month of December I had a goal to blog everyday! And... I failed my goal. Seriously, I missed Christmas, but I still feel a sense of accomplishment. Why? I didn't give up... and the best advice I can give on the last day of 2019 is don't give up!
Sometimes as you are pursuing goals things don't go as planned or you miss the mark. What's important is you don't give up! On December 26th I had the temptation to stop all together but something told me to keep going. That push to keep going could be the Holy Spirit.
From a financial perspective setbacks may happen (that's why an emergency fund is important). Sometimes when you are almost at your goal things get crazy. You may have to replace the water heater, a pipe burst, or car trouble may occur. Although you can cover the issue with cash it sets your goal back some months. It's okay. Don't give up!
For example, if your goal to save a down payment on a house gets pushed back a few months it's not the end of the world. Only God knows, but the right home for you may not be available until the month where your goal was pushed back. Something I have to remind myself I don't have the answer for everything even with good planning and His plan much greater than my own.
As you begin to finalize your financial and life goals for 2020 remember it may not be easy. Things may get uncomfortable throughout the year. Your plan may even change. Still don't give up! You can do it! Happy New Year!
