In marriage, it is important to communicate your needs with money. Ask your spouse how they feel about money & their driving factors around it. Being open and honest in marriage is important, but don't leave money out of that! Communication is key!
If you're married, have you noticed your spouse has different viewpoints than you? I like to think of it this way, if both of you were the same, one of you is not needed. When it comes to money in marriage the difference propagate.
Between a husband and wife, one of you may be a spender and the other may be a saver. One may love to track finances while the other may just go with the flow. Regardless of who's who, it's important to communicate and come to a decision.
Let me state again, both spouses should have a vote in a healthy marriage on how finances are distributed. Both opinions count! This can be done by discussing the monthly budget together and determining spending. Also, have at least one budget meeting a month and come together each month as needed to make changes. This is why communication is key!
